All smoking woods in our mixed cases with Oak, are sourced locally from timber that has not been sprayed or treated, and comes in individual 6 kg nets for separation.
Oak burns very hot, making it a great blending wood and very versatile. Choose to combine in a mixed case with one of the following:

Alder produces a sweet, musky smoke, good with fish, pork, poultry, and light-meat game birds. Traditionally used in the pacific Northwest to smoke salmon.
Ash is a fast burning hard wood which produces a light to medium smoke with a delicate aroma that works well with fish, chicken and red meats.
Sweet-chestnut has a wonderful aromatic, toasty, slightly sweet nutty aroma and is good with most meats.
